Not All Scooters Are Built Equal

Judith Halprin - USA

It has opened a world of freedom of movement that couldn't happen without this marvelous machine. We quickly learned how easy it is to fold and unfold it.

The best decision I ever made, (except marrying my lovely wife). The best money I ever spent. This little machine is as much fun as my first bicycle, but with a motor! I am constantly having people ask me about it, and are amazed at its design.

I am enjoying the portability of this scooter as compared to the Golden Technology Companion 4 scooter I have used for the last 3 years. This one is way easier to haul in your vehicle.

We had the Elite Luggie for years with no issues. Wanted to upgrade to the Super Luggie due to excessive swelling in legs and the Super has a little more leg room and a much larger seat.

In 1992, Mr. Arthur Wang set out to build his wife Juyu a mobility scooter using only the best materials and smartest design. He began to build what became the world's first folding electric scooter.

Arthur's commitment and Juyu's inspiring perspective remain the driving force of everything that happens at the 90,000 square feet manufacturing facility in Kaohsiung, Taiwan.

A Closer Look

  • Aircraft-Grade Aluminum

Used for the Luggie’s entire chassis. Lightweight but stronger than standard-grade aluminum, it delivers both portability and durability without compromise.

  • CNC-Machined Components

Folding hinges, locking joints, and structural connectors are CNC-cut to aerospace tolerances. That means tighter fits, smoother folds, and less wear over time.

  • Reinforced Welds

Every structural joint is laser-welded for added strength. These welds are not just cosmetic—they reduce frame stress and prolong lifespan.

  • High-Density Composites

We use premium polymers for trim and paneling—resistant to UV, cracking, and weather. No flimsy plastic parts here.

  • Water & Weather Resistant

Not waterproof, but the built-in seals and protected electronics make Luggie a trusted companion in real-world conditions, not just showroom floors.

The heaviest, top-of-the-range Luggie weighs under 70 lbs. Very much considered lightweight, the Luggie also feels sturdy because it uses real materials that last. No gimmicks. No compromises. A few extra pounds mean more stability, more support, and fewer repairs.

While all Luggie models are built with stability and a smooth ride in mind, multiple Luggie models such as the Luggie Elite Plus 4 include a rear suspension and larger pneumatic wheels—rare features in folding travel scooters.

No, the frame is aluminum (which doesn’t rust), and all fasteners and joints are sealed or treated for long-term wear. Like any other mobility aid, the rest of your Luggie requires basic maintenance and upkeep to stand the test of time.

Besides upgrading their batteries, there are many Luggie riders who are still using the same Luggie they purchased 10 years ago!
